Basic Search

To search for information within this site (this does not include external documents or pages hosted on other servers linked to by this site), type into the Rapâ /Search box a word or words you would expect to find in the pages or documents of interest to you. This search is across all fields and contents on the CFRT web site.

Wildcard truncation - the query contract* will find all words beginning with the string contract so the pages and documents would contain contract, contracts, and contractual.

Phrase searching - you may search for a phrase by typing the words in consecutive order eg. Ngati Tuwharetoa.

For an exact match type the phrase within quotation marks eg. "settlement negotiations" this will find only the plural form of this phrase and not any reference to the singular ie settlement negotiation.

Boolean Operators:

Using and, or, not Use these connectors to make more specific queries

maketu and develop* will identify pages and documents containing both these words in any order.
maketu or develop* will return vastly more pages and documents because you have broadened your search to pages and documents that contain either word.
Searching for maketu not develop* will narrow the search to pages and documents containing the word maketu but not the word or words develop/develops/developed/development.

Advanced Search

By Specific Field - you can search by specific fields and combinations of these: Title, Author, Keywords, Description, Date Created (year eg. 2001), Date Last Modified (any time, today, last 7 days, last 30 days, last 90 days) and Section Area.
By Specific Section - you can refine your search by selecting to only return pages and documents from specific sections of the intranet site using the advanced search option: A Mātou/About Us, Pārongo/Information, Kāhui Umanga/Business Teams, Huarahi Mahi/Workstreams, Pūranga Kōrero/Reference.
By limiting to documents only - to search documents only ie PDF, Word and not web pages, select document library from the drop down Sections menu.

General Notes

Search is not case sensitive.
Search results are ordered by the number of occurrences of your search word/s.
Search has no facility for proximity searching.
Search indexes Web pages, Word documents and PDF files - all page contents, metadata tags ie. title, author, keywords, description (abstract), date created (year eg. 2001), date last modified and section area.
The usual noise words eg. it, is, the, to and single letters and numbers are filtered out.
