Trust establishes Northland Presence
The Trust has built important relationships with Northland claimants, as a result of establishing a presence in the Far North during the year.
Three Trust staff are based in the north, and are working at the coal face of local claimant activity to encourage clusters, or claimant communities to work together on issues of common interest. Work to date has included the scoping of some 200 claims in the area.
“The claims in this region range from simple to define through to extremely complex. By having a presence in the north, the Trust can work directly with claimant communities, improving communication and resourcing and enabling economies of scale,” says Trust Northland regional facilitator, Arthur Harawira.
